Why should I choose Gifts I'd Love to create my gift wish list for my special day.
By creating your wish list here you are in complete control, and there are no hidden costs. You are free to add any kind of product from any shop in the world at no cost to you or your guests. There are other sites that offer similar services, but most of them limit you to adding products from a small selection of shops, or they charge you a set up fee. The traditional method of having a list in just one shop is now outdated and simply limits your choice too much.
How much does it cost to create a list on your site?
Nothing! Nada! Rien! There are absolutely no costs involved at all.
Can I request vouchers on my list?
Yes! The easiest way to do this is to mention it in the "Further Information" when you create the list. You can also add Virgin Vouchers to the list as separate items, Virgin vouchers are one of our suggested retailers as they can be spent on a massive range of things, from holidays, music, flights, experience days. In fact anything that has the Virgin name, plus a whole host of other things including restaurants, zoos, LegoLand and many others.
Can I add products that cannot be purchased on line?
Yes of course, it is your list and you can add what you wish. When adding these items make sure you provide enough information for the guests to be able to find and purchase the item, such as the street address or phone number of the shop.
Should I add a password to my list?
We suggest YES. Although having a password means your guests will have to remember it, or keep it handy we still strongly recommend that you do protect your list in this way. Unfortunately there are unfriendly types out there who would take pleasure in viewing unprotected lusts and marking items as purchased so your proper guests wont see the items. It is, of course your choice.
What information do I need to enter when adding a product to my list?
The "Add a product" form contains lots of fields, however you only have to fill in the ones you want to. The reason there are so many is to help you make it very clear to your guests what you want. Sometimes web pages may contain a number of items on the one page, so it may be necessary to add the colour, size or catalogue number. Other times you may sim ply just need to add the price, name and web site address. The general rule is to add enough information so it is perfectly clear what item you are looking for.
How should I write the web address?
When you are writing web site addresses to add a product make sure you include the FULL address, including the initial http:// The easiest way to do this is copy the address. To do this, when you are viewing the item highlight all the information in the address bar at the top of your browser and press Ctrl + C (Cmd + C on a Mac), then when you return to our site, place your cursor in the correct field and press Ctrl + V (Cmd + V) to paste the address.
Will I know who has bought what from my list?
You can view your list at any time (up to one month after your event date) items that have been bought will have the buyers email address next to it.
How do I add a picture to a product in my list?
Our team here in the office will add pictures to some of your items for you by copying them from the shop's site. If you wish to do this yourself, then when you are viewing the product on the shop's website use your mouse to right-click on the picture: If you are using Internet explorer now choose "properties", and you will see a window that tells you the address or URL or the image, that you can highlight and copy. If you are using Chrome simply right-click on the picture and choose "copy image URL". Now return to our site and paste that URL in the correct place on the form by pressing Ctrl + V (or Cmd + V on a mac)
Why do some things change after I add a product to my wish list?
Our team will always endeavour to check your list, we will look for any errors, and make sure that everything is clear for your guests. We will also add pictures to some of your items. We may make slight alterations to your text if we feel it will improve the listing, such as correcting spelling errors. You may also notice a change to the URL. This change is necessary so that items and sales can be logged by our systems so that information can be passed to retailers that advertise on our site. Please be assured that any changes we make will not change how the item is purchased and will not change the price or service you receive from the retailers.
Can I delete an item from my gift wish list?
Yes. Simply edit your product list and delete the item
Our software removes an item from your list as soon as somebody confirms they have bought it for you. They do that by clicking to say they bought it and entering their email address to confirm. The software is, of course, only as good as the people using it, however we do our best to make sure people don't forget to tell us they have bought the gift!
Are there delivery charges for the gifts?
That depends entirely on which gifts you add and from which stores. Many retailers will charge for delivery and this will be added to the total at the time of purchase. A lot of the suggested retailers we have listed on our site offer free delivery.
Will all my gifts arrive together and can I supply a delivery address?
Put simply,no and yes! As you are listing products from a variety of shops each will be despatched independently and separately by that retailer to the address given by the person buying the gift. You may offer a delivery address that can be seen by people when they view your list, however we have found that most people like to have the gift delivered to them so they can wrap and give it to you themselves. This method means the giving of the gifts are much more personal, as opposed to several large brown boxes coming from a department store list on a date after your big day. If you do decide to ask that your guests deliver presents to an address you supply remember to ensure the address is always "manned" as you wont know when to expect the gifts!
